Silver Anniversary

Celebrating 25 Years of Reducing Hunger

More than 40 years ago, Dana Irribarren founded the Hunger Taskforce due to cuts in public welfare programs and the national recession. In 1995, the Hunger Taskforce became an independent 501(c)(3) organization renamed the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland. Since 1995, we have provided over 100 million meals to our neighbors in need.

Sustaining Our Growth

To celebrate our Silver Anniversary, we’ve established the Silver Apple Fund — A sustaining fund that will continue expansion of our work and feed our communities’ future for 25 years to come.

The Silver Apple Fund will be managed by our friends at the Cleveland Foundation and Community West Foundation. If you want to learn more about fueling the Hunger Network’s mission in perpetuity, contact Kate Burke, Director of Development.

58 years ago, Dr. and Mrs. Saha moved to the United States with only $50 in their pocket. After building their lives together and volunteering at the Hunger Network for 15 years, they decided to establish their legacy as a named fund — The Sipra and Gopal Saha Fund. Their generosity and foresight will create an impact in perpetuity and celebrate their family value of helping to feed those in need!
